Q & A’s with Leonie

My Favorite Animals
Its too hard to choose one favourite, I love them all, they each have their little quirks and personalities that make them special.
Well, these are possibly Leonies first three favourites…

  • Wombats. I raised my first wombat when I was 15.
  • Pigs. Pigs are fantastic and so smart. Our logo is a pig!
  • Shelly the turtle, she’s good at party tricks!

The Highest Accomplishment
Family of five children.
Where do you like to holiday?
Anywhere there’s a challenge. Last year I trekked to Nepal to the base of Mount Everest and then after that had our annual holiday as a family on a cruise around Australia and Vanuatu.

The destination doesn’t matter, it’s spending time with family and friends that I care about most.

Favorite Things to Do
Work on the farm with great animals & great people.

If you love what you do, you never work.

“Success is not the key to happiness, happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.” Buddha

Leonie is the Owner of Animals on the Move. Leonie is a very busy lady, coordinating the company, staff and caring for the animals well being. With a love for all animals, Leonies main focus is with the Bush Babies where she gets to interact with people, teaching them all about the weird and wonderful characteristics, behaviors and habitats of her native Australian reptiles, marsupials, amphibians and birds.

Our Valuable Team Members

Our team-based approach ensures expertise is optimised and we enjoy the AOTM experience just as much as you do:)

All Animals On The Move team members, under the Working with Children Act 2005, fulfill the obligation to have a current Working With Children Check (WWC). By fulfilling these obligations, we help to make Victoria’s children safer. It is imperative to conduct a thorough recruitment strategy (including reference checking), implement supervision and training practices for staff and volunteers who work with us at Animals On The Move.

With Animal welfare as our main focus, we have regular vet checks from Tom Cook, Gembrook Vet (specialist in large animals). We continuously educate staff and franchisees on animal husbandry with regular training days and continued support. Our training and franchisee site audits are designed so that everyone’s farm is running at its best.
